Thinking of eating Nutella but you're vegan? No worries, we're here to show you how to make a healthy vegan Nutella!!
It's super easy and simple! And trust us, it’s also delicious and taste ridiculously like the real thing.
For this healthy vegan Nutella, you will need:
- 2 1/2 cups unsalted hazelnuts
- 7 pitted prunes (soaked)
- 2 cups cacao powder
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
- a pinch of sea salt
Start by preheating the oven to 176 Celsius and add the hazelnuts to a baking sheet in a single layer. If you got the raw ones, you will need to roast it for a total of 12-15 minutes. If it's already roasted, just roast it for 8-10 minutes just to warm the natural oils and loosen the skins. This will make it easier to blend into butter.
Remove from oven and let it cool slightly (3-4 minutes). Next, transfer the hazelnuts to a food processor or high-speed blender and blend on low about 8-10 minutes total – scraping down sides as needed.
Next, add the remaining ingredients in and blend well. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more salt or vanilla if desired. Make sure it comes out creamy and smooth!
If your Nutella isn't sweet enough, you can adjust by adding more brown sugar. But don't take away the nutty chocolaty taste with sweetness!
Transfer it to a jar and you're done!! You can store at room temperature or keep it refrigerated. We advise you to keep in in the fridge and it will last up till 2-3 weeks.
Now you can enjoy your healthy vegan Nutella with a toast or crackers! Just a few simple and quick steps to making it. Hope you enjoy it and do share it with us on our Instagram and #FSARecipes
